On Saturday, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and the "Legit Dabarkads" debuted their noontime show on TV5.
As they entered their "new home" in the pilot episode, the legendary three couldn't help but cry.
Pauleen Luna, Kristine Hermosa, and other hosts' associates grew tearful as well.
The much-anticipated noontime show on TV5 hosted by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and the Legit Dabarkads has finally begun.
The hosts, who have yet to unveil the title of their program, also sang Vic's "Eat Bulaga" theme song.
Instead of chanting the original phrase "buong bansa, Eat Bulaga," the words were modified to "buong bansa... EAT."
"Eat Bulaga" is the Philippines' longest-running noontime variety show. The first episode aired on July 30, 1979. Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto are among its early hosts. Tape Inc.'s "Eat Bulaga" recently returned to GMA with a new host lineup that included Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar, and Betong Sumaya.
Portraits of past "Eat Bulaga" hosts, dubbed the "Legit Dabarkads," adorned the walls of the TV5 Media Center's corridor. TV5 released a video of the images on its social media platforms. Aside from the photographs of the show's pioneer hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, there were also portraits of Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Maine Mendoza, Allan K, Ryan Agoncillo, Carren Eistrup, and Ryzza Mae Dizon.
A liturgy and blessing of their "new home" were held a few days ago. TVJ's internet pages then posted various images of the special occasion and the program's studio. Pauleen Luna, Tali Sotto, Maine Mendoza, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Allan K, Ryzza and Carren join the renowned trio.
